These beads are made from domestic bamboo, harvested and hand crafted in the USA. Each barrel bead is an imperfect slice containing a node, aka ring. A small hole has been drilled through the nodular membrane, a thick woody tissue, that separates the otherwise hollow bamboo.

Measuring between 1/2" and and and inch and a half in diameter, each of the 37 assorted beads is heat treated and burnished, strung on the same tough polypro twine I use for wind chimes, with the knot heat-sealed so it will never come untied. These are around 15-18 inches long and fit over my head without much drama, and weigh in between 4-6 ounces.

The string could be cut and the beads used as supplies for other projects.
